Andropause and Hair Loss
Middle age and hair loss in men often go together. You will notice lots of hair fall from the scalp, or you may see hair strands floating in the drains of your shower. . You will notice a thinning of hair when you run your hands through your head. But keep in mind that males lose hair due a disparity of male hormone, testosterone in your body. During the Andropause time enzymes, break down hair into dihydrotestosterone, in place of infusing it with vigorous testosterone.
When you have this hormone is excess quantities, it can reduce the hair follicles size, leading to breaking down and resulting in the failing off your hair at irregular intervals. This is referred to as hyperthyroidism in medical parlance. Hyperthyroidism occurs because of reduced quantity of growth hormone, which regulates the aging.
Hormones can have great impact during Andropause on how much and how often you lose your hair. The potent testosterone, Dihydrotestosterone, (DHT) regulates hair growth in the bodies of males, including pubic hair, armpit hair, head hair, etc. Moreover, DHT is openly produced on our skin, and with the help of enzymes breaks down the hormone to send it to the entire body.
If you find lots of hair on your head, and only sparsely in other parts of the body it is because DHT concentration on those areas is such. Females have DHT, but they don’t produce as much as males and that’s why they don’t have body hair. Because of the over activity of enzyme which breaks down the hormone to DHT is the reason for the Andropause condition.
Because DHT is not evenly present on the body of males their hair pattern can be funny; that is why baldies present funny looks with hair here and no hair there. When hair follicles shrink due to DHT, this can result.
The other reasons for hair loss in Andropause males can be stress, because stress means increased cortisol and cortisone levels. When you eat food which don’t have any nutritional elements you tend to lose hair. Any activity that is catalytic to catalyses aging process, can also lead to loss of hair. Avoid beverages which have caffeine, smoking and fast foods.
Reduce stress by taking part in some leisure activities, and also bring a regular exercise into your daily routine. Don’t let the hair loss affect you… Andropause should not mean a punishment to you.
