Betaseron Side Effects : Effective Drug for Treating Multiple Sclerosis Safely

Betaseron solutions are used for treating relapsing form multiple sclerosis (MS). It aims at reducing the flare ups and slows down the development of physical disabilities associated with the MS. It is similar to a protein found in our body but its working is not exactly known.

Use Betaseron solutions as prescribed by your doctor and never self modify its doses for altering the effects. It is an injection solution that is required to be taken as directed by your doctor. Usually, the doses are given at the hospital; clinic or at health care centers. There are also certain severe side effects associated with this drug that primarily include severe allergic reactions, tightness in the chest, swelling or persistent pain in or around the injection site, reduced coordination, chest pain, oozing, skin breakdowns, difficulty in swallowing or breathing, feeling hot or cold all the time, mood swings, dizziness, muscle stiffness, seizures, suicidal behavior or thoughts or symptoms of infections, liver problems, unusual bruising or bleeding or unintended weight loss or gains. • If taking any other prescription drugs or herbal medicines or even dietary supplements
• Being allergic to other substances, foods or medicines
• Having a medical history of blood, thyroid or bone marrow or liver problems, mental or mood swings, seizures or suicidal behaviors or thoughts.

These are strongly prohibited if the patient is highly allergic to any Betaseron solution like albumin. This is also prevalent if you are using another medicine containing Interferon Beta-1b.

These drug solutions are recommended to be stored at 77 degree Fahrenheit. Brief storing between the temperatures of 56-86 degree Fahrenheit is also allowed. After mixing the drug, it can be stored in the refrigerators and should be used within 3 hours of mixing. Also never consider freezing it. Always keep Betaseron drugs, syringes and needles away from the reach of children.
