Causes And Cure For Dandruff

Dandruff is a condition which affects the scalp, even as you brush or comb your hair, scales from scalp loosen and fall down embarrassingly settling on your shoulders, eye brows, and clothes. Sometimes these scales can even come out as crusts from the scalp, and it is essentially a condition affecting the scalp.

Symptoms of Dandruff

As mentioned above symptoms include hair fall, scales from scalp falling when brush and comb, or even during your shampooing. There is lot of itching, and as you itch the affected part, the scalp is likely to become reddish, leading to more hair fall, even as the hair follicles get damaged due to this condition.

Causes for Dandruff

Dandruff results from general weakness in the body, taking of wrong food, toxic condition of the body due to intake of incorrect food, constipation, and low vitality due to general impairment of health, lesser immunity from infectious diseases.

Other causes for dandruff include tension, use of harsh shampoos, over exposure to cold weather conditions, and fatigue.

Home Remedies for Dandruff

  1. Fenugreek seeds are found to be a good remedy. Soak two tablespoons of seeds in water overnight, and grinding into a fine paste in the morning. Apply this paste on the scalp leave it for half an hour. Rinse the hair with soap-nut or acacia concicinna solution.
  2. Fresh lime juice can be used for rinsing the air as the last rinse, while washing your hair. Apart from making the hair glow, it prevents dandruff and removes stickiness.
  3. Green Gram powder is of great help in removing dandruff. Wash hair and scalp by mixing two tablespoons of this powder with half cup of yoghurt.
  4. Dandruff can also be treated with beets, tops and roots of which is boiled in water and the water is slowly massaged with your fingertips on the scalp every night. Prefer white better for massaging. Similarly snake gourd juice can treat and prevent dandruff. Rub the juice over the scalp.
  5. Massage hair with yogurt kept in open for 3 days, or lime juice drops mixed in Indian gooseberry juice, before going to bed. Cider vinegar in equal quantity of water should be dabbed on the hair and scalp between shampooing, while cider vinegar can be added as a final rinse with water.
  6. Keep hair and scalp clean, so that dead cells do not accumulate.
  7. Brush your hair daily removing the flakes. The most effective way for this is to bend forward from your waist and brush from the nape of the neck. Massage the scalp daily, before brushing the hair. Through this you are stimulating blood circulation, removing dirt, and dandruff flakes. Expose your head to sunrays for treating dandruff.

Dandruff can be best treated when you maintain your health in good condition.
