Causes and Home Remedies for Cystitis

Cystitis is a condition which is highly painful and irritating, sometimes associated with stone formation in the kid
Kidneys. Its presence is always noticed by pain in lower abdomen parts.
Symptoms of Cystitis:
- Patients complain of pain while passing urine, which may be akin to burning sensation;
- The pelvis and lower portions of abdomen may experience pain, even as urine can become dark, stringy and foul smelling. Sometimes it may contain blood or pus. At times lower back also can pain.
- When left untreated it can bring about chronic form, with feverishness, to begin with, but later without even fever it can continue with the above symptoms.
Causes for Cystitis:
- Infections near bladder, urethra, vagina or prostrate glands, can be a major cause for cystitis.
- Bladder can experience irritation, as well as inflammation.
- Sometimes constipation can also cause cystitis.
- Infected kidney, kidney stones, enlarged prostrate also can lead to this disorder.
Home Remedies:
Treatment of cystitis can be effectively handled by natural home remedies. Some of these include-
i) Cucumber juice is known to be an effective diuretic. If you use 3 to 4 times a day this juice can be very helpful. Mix a cup of cucumber juice with a teaspoon of honey and a tablespoon of fresh lime juice.
ii) Pick up drumstick flowers, make a juice out of them, mix it with half a glass of tender coconut water, and use it twice a day, even as it performs like a diuretic.
iii) Radish leaves crushed into juice is wonderful for treating cystitis. If you take a cup of this daily early in the morning for a fortnight, cystitis can vanish.
iv) Fresh lady’s fingers should be cooked into a decoction with water, and taken twice a day
v) Spinach juice is found effective when it is mixed with tender coconut water and taken, as it provides nitrates and potassium.
vi) Cystitis can be treated by Lemon juice. Put a teaspoon of lemon juice in boiling water (180 ml), cool it, and at intervals of 2 hours, use 60 ml of this water, which can reduce burning sensation and stops bleeding.
vii) Similarly barley gruel with buttermilk and half a lime crushed into juice can be very beneficial.
viii) If you take 5 drops of sandalwood oil, to begin with, and increasing to 10 to 30 drops, mixed with a glass of water or with ginger mixed water, can be of great help.
Cystitis requires change in lifestyle pattern, inasmuch as you should try to take plenty of liquids, and hence a number of vegetable and fruit juices can be of great help in relieving the symptoms and treating this condition.
