Causes and Home Remedies for Diarrhea

Diarrhea refers to watery bowel movements, when the food moves in the digestive tract faster than usual, and causes frequent bowel movements. Inconsistent and watery stools are referred to as diarrhea, which is one of the body; mechanisms to drive out substances which are undesirable. Diarrhea can be accompanied with symptoms like, stomach uneasiness, fever, thirst, nausea, vomiting, and dehydration. This condition is dangerous for children and elderly people over 65 years.

Main cause for this condition is weak digestive power. You Food habits, especially if you are indiscriminately using, fast foods, fried items, meat, cauliflower, broccoli, beans and nuts, impure food or water cam cause diarrhea.
This condition cannot be cured by drugs, and in fact anti-diarrhea drugs only relieve the symptoms temporarily, but don’t help to cure the disease. In fact they can aggravate the bowel movements and affect the body.
Home Remedies for Diarrhea :
Instead of harsh chemical based drugs, natal home remedies should be considered for treating this condition. Most of the home remedies are secrets of every household handed down from generations. Since diarrhea can affect who has eaten wrong food, or has been infected with virus, home remedies provide natural relief without affecting the body in any other way. Here are some useful remedies:
- Mash a ripe banana, add a tsp of tamarind pulp and salt to it, and consume the mixture twice a day.
- Diarrhea can be cured by taking yogurt with mango juice and a bit of ginger.
- Take a pinch of allspice in a cup of warm water, add hone and drink after moving bowels.
- Dried plantain leaves Mixed in a cup of boiling water, allowed to sit for 20 minutes. Strain the mixture, and take half a cup at the intervals of 2 hours.
- Drink fresh Lemon juice in a big glass of water, 5 times a day, to get rid of the pathogens causing diarrhea. This can be used for prevention also just before your night meal.
- Add pepper to boiled water, with one and half tsp of kelp to two cups of water, and drink the mixture.
- Take powder made from mango nut.
- If it is acute, you may have to go for oral re-hydration. Crush the lemon along with seeds and make a paste of it, add salt and take a tsp of this twice a day.
- Take equal parts of ginger powder, cumin powder and cinnamon powder, mix them with hone and use it thrice a day.
- Nutmeg can also cure diarrhea.
- Turmeric is very effective and recognized as an intestinal antiseptic, as well as a gastric stimulant and a tonic. Turmeric juice or dry can be taken in buttermilk or plain water.
Home remedies are plenty, and your kitchen has all the ingredients to cure diarrhea, but ensure that you keep your body hydrated and take lots of water, irrespective of which remedy you are adopting. Plenty of liquids, electrolytes can help treat diarrhea.
