Causes and Home Remedies For Ringworm

Ringworm is a fungal infection that leaves marks on the skin. Ringworm mostly occurs in the body, feet, scalp and nails. This is a contagious disease and spreads to the persons in contact. Ringworm can affect all people devoid of age. Ringworm in the intestines causes indigestion and can disturb body functioning.

Causes:

  1. Unhygienic body habits
  2. Skin wounds
  3. Pets and dogs
  4. Wearing unclean clothes
  5. Excess sweating
  6. Lack of protective fatty acids in scalp
  7. Using unclean combs
  8. Weak body immune system

Symptoms:

  1. Reddish scaly skin rings on the affected parts
  2. Itching of the skin
  3. Irritation on the infected areas
  4. Round patches on the skin

Remedies for ringworm:

  1. Turmeric is the most effective home remedy for ringworm infection. Apply turmeric paste mixed with sandalwood oil on the affected skin and then wash it later. You can also mix honey and turmeric juice and drink this daily to get relief from ringworm.
  2. Flesh of papaya can be rubbed on the infected skin thrice daily. This will give better cure from ringworm.
  3. Mix powder of mustard seeds with water and apply this on the affected areas for quick heal from ringworm.
  4. Extract juice of holy basil leaves and mint and apply it on the skin.
  5. Drink plenty of fruits and vegetable juices to cure intestinal ringworms.
  6. Keep always the powder of mango kernels in hand. This can be mixed with hot water and taken for quick remedy from ringworm.
  7. Take two mulberry fruits daily to kills worms in the intestine.
  8. Eat one tomato daily in empty stomach to cure ringworms.
  9. Include amla in your daily diet to reduce the effect of ringworms.
  10. Take warm water bath by mixing tree tee oil or eucalyptus in it. This will soothe the irritations caused by ringworm.
  11. Apply mud pack over the affected parts to eradicate the growth of ringworm.
  12. Eat nutritious food and drink plenty of water. Avoid junk foods and sugary foods.
  13. Apply the juice of cassia leaves on the skin to reduce irritation.
  14. Tamarind leaves also can be crushed and the juice can be applied on the skin to control ringworm.
  15. Some herbs like butea, Aththora, Pani tora can be mixed with lemon juice or butter milk and coated over the infection for quick relief.
  16. Soak a ball of cotton in apple cider vinegar and apply over the infected skin. This can be done twice daily to get rid of ringworm infection.
  17. Extract juice from grapefruit seeds and apply it on the skin for ringworm disease.
  18. Garlic is another effective home remedy for ringworm. Eat some garlic everyday in empty stomach or apply garlic oil on the infection daily for better cure.
  19. Keep your pets clean and hygienic. Wash your hands well after playing with the pet animals.

    ringworm is really a nasty thing. i used to get it on my face when i was young. then i would go to the doctor, he would prescribe a tube called quadiderm. then after using it for sometime it would go away. i got ringworm like this for some years. but now i am not getting it anymore.
