Dyspepsia or indigestion is a burning sensation and a painful feeling, which can be felt, in the upper part of the abdomen. Many people consume large amounts of aspirin due to stress and this can cause a lot of disturbance in the digestive system of the person. This could be a signal of a much more serious disease like gastro esophageal reflux or GERD, a peptic ulcer or even stomach cancer.

Symptoms of Indigestion :

The symptoms of indigestion are very similar to the symptoms of all other problems with the digestive system. The person will experience a burning sensation in the upper part of the abdomen as well as sever pain all over the abdomen, severe vomiting and belching as well as a bloated feeling in the stomach. But it is always better to consult a doctor in order to confirm that symptoms and the condition before any kind of treatment is administered.

Home Remedies for Indigestion :

  • Peppermint is one of the most sought after solutions for indigestion. People who have chronic problems with heartburn can consume peppermint tea since this will take care of the indigestion without causing any kind of discomfort and heartburn.

  • Chicory root contains endive and escarole. Half a cup of chicory roots should be boiled for around ten minutes and they should be consumed when hot in order to take care of indigestion, acid reflux as well as heartburn. Chicory root can also be added to a salad in order to help with heartburn.
  • Ginger has always proved to be useful in correcting all kinds of stomach problems. Ginger tea can provide relief from indigestion. Crushed ginger can be added to a cup of hot water and left for three minutes. The person should then drink the mix after straining.
  • Chopped tulsi leaves, sea salt and black pepper should be mixed with curds and consumed. This concoction should be consumed at least four times in a day in order to gain relief for the stomach.
  • Oranges help in providing a lot of relief to the digestive system and it also supplies the body with some essential nutrition
  • Cardamom seeds can be mixed with ginger, cloves and coriander and consumed in order to gain relief from the symptoms of indigestion.
