Causes and Treating A Toothache

A toothache is a kind of pain, which is experienced in and around the area, which is surrounding the tooth. The main reasons for the occurrence of a toothache are problems in the teeth as well as jaws like cavities, gum diseases, upcoming wisdom teeth, cracked teeth, dental pulp which has been infected, diseases in the jaw or a tooth root which has been exposed.

The presence of germs and cavities in the teeth, regular consumption of junk foods, sweets and chocolates, poor quality of brushing, toothpastes and toothbrushes are some of the reasons for the occurrence of a toothache. Stress, mental tension and anxiety are also responsible for making a toothache much worse.
When the nerve roots of the teeth are irritated, a toothache occurs. Infection in the teeth, tooth decay and the loss of a tooth are also some of the other reasons for the occurrence of a toothache. The process of extracting a tooth can also be very painful and it can cause a lot of agony. Cavities in the teeth, gum diseases, cracked teeth; temporomandibular diseases are also some of the reasons for the occurrence of a toothache.
Symptoms of a Toothache :
Pain in the jaws as well as the teeth are two of the most common symptoms of the presence of a toothache. A lot of pain and pressure will be felt on the teeth as well as the jaws and they will also be very strong responses to both hot as well as cold foods. The pain will continue to last even after the hot and cold substances have been removed. The pain will only to continue to increase if the area becomes swollen. The pain could also travel to the ears, teeth and the jaw.
Treatment for a Toothache :
A toothache is a kind of pain, which originates in the area, which is present around the teeth as well as the jaws. Sometimes the pain will be very mild while at times it will be a sharp shooting pain which is causing a lot of agony and distress. Sometimes the pain will continue to exist for very long periods of time while sometimes it will keep coming and going. The pain is most likely to increase when the teeth come into contact with substances, which are either extremely hot or extremely cold. Sometimes a toothache will also be accompanied by a fever.
Painkillers and antibiotics will have to be prescribed in certain cases and the doctor might sometimes have to administer the painkiller in the form of an injection. Antibiotics will have to be prescribed in case of the occurrence of swollen gums and teeth as well as fever.
Natural Treatment for a Toothache :
Tea tree oil should be applied on the teeth with the help of a cotton bud. Despite the bitter taste, it will help in relieving the toothache to a large extent. Cloves also provide a lot of relief from a toothache. The possibility of the infection spreading can also be reduced by making use of tea tree oil. Clove oil can also be mixed with black pepper as well as a little salt in order to treat a toothache.
Garlic should be mixed with a pinch of salt and applied on the infected tooth. Chewing one garlic pod everyday on a regular basis can help in providing a lot of strength for the teeth. Onions have also proved to be very effective in curing a toothache. A small piece of onion should be placed on the infected teeth or gums.
