Causes, Symptoms and Home Remedies for Jock Itch

If you are being embarrassed by persistent irritation and itching in the groin area, it may be due to Jock Itch, a fungal skin infection. A fungus variety, Trichophyton rubrum causes this condition, with intense itching and rashes due to itch appearing near groin. Men who sweat a lot are usually affected by this condition. It can aggravate itself if not treated in time.
Causes of Jock Itch :
- Unhygienic conditions are the main cause. Moist places host bacteria. Since the groin area tends to be warm and if you have a tendency to sweat a lot, the area in particular sweats a lot, and the moisture there hosts bacteria.
- Jock Itch can also appear if you usually wear tight clothes, as the skin rubs against the fabric and gets chaffed.
- You may get the condition from someone else already having it.
- Obesity is also known to cause Jock Itch.
Symptoms of Jock Itch :
- Intense itching and burning and appearance of rashes in the groin region.
- Cracking and peeling away of skin, and at times bleeding in the region.
Home Remedies for Jock Itch :
- Jock Itch can be treated with Garlic. Increase intake of garlic in your diet.
- Keep the place dry using talcum powder, at lease four to five times a day.
- Creams and gels made of natural components available off the counter can be applied.
- Apply 2 of 3 drops of Tea tree oil, at least four times daily, on the affected area for effective cure.
keep the infected area dry all the time. Use dry clothe or hair dryer to get rid of moisture. - Avoid wearing tight clothes. Cotton ware, especially shots, will allow air to the groin, and keep it fresh.
If you are overweight, it is necessary to lose weight, so that this condition doesn’t persist.
Remember, Jock Itch is a condition caused by a fungus, and therefore a fungal treatment to extinguish is necessary. Maintaining cleanliness in the region, allowing it not become moist because of intensive sweating, by drying up the area from a clean cloth or cotton swabs, often, and powdering the area should be of great help.
The condition can flare up and even start bleeding if not attended to properly, due to intensive scratching that you may indulge due to irritation and itching sensation. When irritated and there is burning feeling in the area, instead of scratching apply a white cloth. Ensure that your obese conditions are attended to and you lose weight, to avoid this problem. Healthy natural food and plenty of air in your living and bed rooms should also ease the situation. Garlic has antioxidant qualities and increase intake of garlic should be considered.
