People are extremely concerned when they see their fallen hair on pillow, hairbrush and clothes. There can be many reasons behind the problem of hair loss. By consulting a doctor, you will be able to determine the cause behind your hair fall. Many women after taking birth control pills regularly experience excessive hair loss. In this article, you will get to know how birth control and hair fall is connected to each other.

Hormonal imbalance affects hair fall

Hormones level can damagingly affect the growth of hair. They can cause quicker hair loss. Hormones are also able to accelerate the hair growth process in a sudden manner. It will increase the hair at once which remain at the resting position for some months and then suddenly starts falling out.

Estrogen, which occurs during pregnancy, increases the hair growth stage. Some months after delivery, the grown hair remains the same but after resting position, it suddenly begins falling. After some time, the hair regains its actual pattern of growth.

Effects of Birth Control Contraceptive pills

Hormone Replacement Therapy (HRT) contains estrogens. As mentioned earlier also, it accelerates the process of growth stage. After few months of HRT, your hair will begin to fall. The process will give you a sudden appearance of extreme hair loss. According to the hair loss process, the hair grown earlier goes to resting stage and will rapidly start falling. After some time, the growth pattern becomes normal.

Birth Control contraceptive pills taken by women act like HRT. Younger women necessarily do not notice their hair growth process because they normally have thick hair. They usually notice the hair loss some months after using contraceptive pills.

If you are facing such problem, then immediately consult a doctor. Proper treatment should be taken at the beginning of the problem.

Imbalance in hormones can occur because of pregnancy as well as HRT. Estrogens can suddenly increase the growth of hair and at the end of pregnancy, it can cause extreme hair fall. But there is no need to worry because it is not the permanent condition. The growth becomes  normal after some time.
