Diflucan Side Effects : Treating Fungal Infections and Tips for Safer Treatments

Diflucan is used for treating fungal infections relating vaginal, throat or other fungal infections associating other parts of the body. Other such infections may include peritonitis, pneumonia or infections relating to urinary tracts. This drug is specifically used for treating the fungal infections known as Candidiasis. Diflucan is also prescribed to patients having received bone marrow transplant and also for treating meningitis caused due to other fungus types. Today, it is also being prescribed for treating fungal infections associating patients having received liver or kidney transplants and for AIDS.
Diflucan drugs should be consumed either without or with foods. Consider treating with Diflucan as per prescription rules and for the recommended duration only. Relief may be observed immediately but it takes for several weeks or months for actually wholly curing some fungal infections. On missing any dose consider taking these as soon you remember of it. But if the next dose time closes then consider skipping the missed dose and continue with the regular dosing schedule. Never double your doses for avoiding overdosing symptoms. On being overdose the patient may suffer symptoms of paranoia or hallucinations and must seek medical attention immediately.
There are certain side effects associated with this drug that cannot be anticipated. Any change in the intensity must be discussed with the doctor immediately. The commonest side effect in people consuming more than one dose is nausea. For women consuming its single dose would experience side effects of change in taste, nausea, headache, dizziness, diarrhea, indigestion and abdominal pain. Other common side effects of Diflucan include vomiting, skin rashes and heart beat irregularities.
Avoid taking this drug if you are allergic or sensitive to any of its ingredients or similar drugs. Also, avoid this drug from combining with other drugs, especially with heartburn medications as these can trigger several cardiac issues and heart irregularities. Strong allergic reactions are also reported to have been observed on use of allergic reactions. Its symptoms may include sudden drop in the blood pressure levels, itching, swelling, hives and difficulty in breathing or swallowing. On experiencing any of these symptoms consult your doctor urgently.
The effects of Diflucan during pregnancy have not been adequately studied. Hence, during pregnancy or while planning for the same you need to consult your doctor for deciding what’s better for the developing child. This drug also appears in the breast milk and hence could be advised for either discontinuing the treatment or breastfeeding whichever might seem more necessary.
Diflucan are generally recommended to be stored at regular room temperature and away from direct heat and moist. Also, these drugs are prohibited from being exposed at 86 degree Fahrenheit or above temperature.
