Ants are attracted to sweet foods and anything sugary. You might see the insects crawling around a cookie jar or a can of honey in your kitchen. They can become annoying and watching them invade your house is never interesting.
There are many natural ways to get rid of ants. Salt is one of a good repellent to get rid of ants. Simply take a sizeable amount of salt and leave it on their trail. If you can get where they are burrowed it is even better for you. Pour in a good amount of salt in the holes and around the openings. Ants don’t like salt and they will most likely move to another place.
If you have corn meal you can use it to get rid of the insects too. All you need is to pour in a sizeable amount on their trail. Follow it up until you get where they are hidden in the ground. You can do this by following a couple of them to their hiding place. Ask your youngest song to help you. And let them exercise caution too. You can pour cornmeal in the hole and around the opening as well. The ants are sure to feed on it. It helps in destroying large numbers of the insect as it is toxic to their system.
You can use talc to get rid of the insects too. Also use some chalk if your want. Grind it and pour it on their trail. You can do the same thing for the talc too. Ants don’t like it and they will hardly go back where they found it. Pour some generous amount in their hole to help get rid of the entire population.
Other natural remedies to get rid of ants include a number of herbs. Use pepper on their trail to keep them away from your house. You can use cinnamon or garlic too. Mix them up if you are running short of the spices. They have a dislike for such substances and will keep away from them.
Use vinegar to help keep away ants in your house. Pour some on areas they like frequenting in your house. If you find their trail then you can pour some too. It is advisable to find their nesting hole. This helps you get rid of the population quite easily. Just pour in some of the vinegar in the hole too.
Use boric acid to destroy the ants frequenting in your house. All you need is to mix it with sugar or honey which acts as bait. Pour it on their trail and parts of your house they frequent the most. Make sure you do the same to their nesting hole. This will completely destroys them from coming again.
