Good Diet To Treat Stomach Cramp

You get cramps in your stomach when there is a short supply of oxygen to those muscles. This commonly happens when you are under stress. It happens when you are on your monthly period. Overeating causes the condition too. You can follow some easy stomach cramp diets that can effectively help you manage the condition.

A good idea when suffering from stomach cramps is to limit your portions of food. Practise eating a little amount five times a day. This helps your digestive system to cope much better. It is a good remedy as it eases the pressure that leads to the pain and discomfort.

Another remedy to use is eating your food slowly. Take your time with your small portions and chew your food properly. This helps to ease the pressure in the stomach. It is a good way of reducing gas which causes much discomfort associated with cramps in that region.

If the discomfort persists you can try a fast. All you need is avoid several meals until the pressure in your stomach eases. It is equally wise to ensure that you pass stool during this time. It eases the pressure in your system and makes you feel better much faster.

You can drink warm water to help ease stomach cramps too. Simply take one every hour. Sip on the water slowly until you feel okay. Water helps to ease the pressure in your stomach. When taken warm it helps you pass stool much easily in cases of constipation or a bloated tummy. During menstrual cramps it warms the muscles and releases gas which sometimes causes the pain in your stomach.

One of the best things you can do is to increase fiber in your diet. Eat lightly steamed vegetables. The bulk helps remove waste accumulated in your bowels. The nutritious compounds such as antioxidants cleanse your body from toxins caused by build up of waste in your system. Fresh fruits have a similar effect. But avoid citrus kinds such as oranges, lemons, pineapples and grapes.

It is advisable to avoid sugary or sweetened drinks when dealing with stomach cramps. This is a simple cramp remedy that works effectively. Keep away from carbonated drinks too. Some of the things to look out for include sweetened juices, sugary tea or coffee and sodas. These over works your digestive system and makes the condition even worse. Taking fresh and clean water at this time is wise.

Another stomach cramp remedy is to avoid fried and oily foods. Chips, fried chicken or fish are bad idea. Watch out for highly processed foods such as cakes doughnuts, pastries or breads. They overwork your system. They increase the pressure in your stomach which makes the condition much worse. Avoid spicy food as they also have a negative effect when dealing with stomach cramps.
