Green tea is derived from the leaves of the plant camellia sinensis and fermented which gives the benefits that are not derived from black tea. The benefits of green tea are innumerable and highly important and have been realized by our ancestors centuries ago. The main constituent of green tea is polyphenols and in particular, epigallocatechin gallate (EPCG) which enhances the rate of fat burning by more than thirty percent. It is enough to take green tea for three months to accelerate weight loss without the need for any extra exercises and diet control.

Green tea is found to have a powerful anti oxidant that help to protect the body cells from damage and prevent cancer of various body parts like lungs, prostrate, skin and colon. The heart benefits a lot from green tea. Green tea decreases the bad cholesterol and increases the good cholesterol levels and prevents the blocking of blood vessels. Thus, a high percentage of heart attacks and strokes are prevented, if green tea is taken.

Since green tea lowers the level of blood sugar, it obviously controls diabetes. So, diabetic patients can rely more on green tea and take less of medications to avoid their side effects, if any. It was found and believed that green tea has the capacity to ensure proper digestion and prevents many stomach ailments. People, who suffer from the harmful effects of alcohol, viral hepatitis and liver tumors, find it highly beneficial when taking green tea. As the cell damage is minimized, the process of aging is slowed down and you tend to look younger than your age if green tea is taken regularly.

Since green tea is hundred percent natural, there are absolutely no side effects involved and hence there should be no hesitation in taking green tea every day. Researchers say that at least ten cups of green tea should be consumed everyday to maximize the benefits derived out of it and stay healthy and strong.
