Hair Transplant surgery: Hair Insertion Procedure
Hair transplantation surgeries require certain preparations. Pre transplantation activities include applying of anesthesia and removing of donor tissues. Follicular units are separated from donor tissues with the help of a stereomicroscope. Skilled technicians and nurses are involved in these types of surgeries. Finally the hair insertion procedure takes place.
The separated follicular units are preserved in a saline solution. These units will not survive in the absence of ideal temperature which is necessary to be maintained. This process is carried carefully in order to ensure good results.
Before the insertion procedure, surgeons make tiny incisions, with the help of thin surgical needles, which serve as grafting marks. These incisions are called receptor sites. For proper placement of receptor sites, the surgeon must have an eye for detail. He has to be artistic also to give it a natural look, especially when marking hair lines.
The direction at which the hair grows on the front and crown of the head are important aspects. Grafting should a done in much a way to look alike natural hair. Direction of the hair determines the height it will raise from the scalp.
After completing the incision marking procedure that matches the initial design layout, the surgical team steps in. They graft the follicular units according to the incisions made by the surgeon. The surgical team works on the grounds made by surgeon.
The surgical team takes great care while grafting the follicular units in the receptor sites. No time is wasted as the incisions remain vulnerable with their follicles exposed outside the skin. Here the goal is to graft as quickly as possible while keeping up with the design, this in turn serves the goal of the patient.
After the grafting process, the surgeon verifies for quality control. He may spend as much time as possible tweaking the grafts unless he gets satisfied with their placements. His efforts ensure good – natural looking hairs. When he’s done the surgical team steps in again.
The final procedure involves setting the grafts permanently by drying them with cool blow dryers. This adhere the grafts in their fixed places thereby omitting the need for bandages. The patient is provided or asked to bring along a baseball cap for his ride back home.
The doctor requires seeing the patient next day following the transplant procedure. The patient is checked for any problems for prompt corrections. The problems beyond corrections are ensured to be looked at a future time.
At this point, the surgeon is finished with hair transplant procedure. The patient is required to undergo regular checkups. A surgery for extensive hair fall involves more procedures but each surgery is performed with the same amount of care.
