Got an upset stomach? One can pretty much take their pick of home remedies for an upset stomach, as there are quite a number of them available. Let us take a look at some of them.

Activated charcoal is an amazing gift for a number of reasons. Not only is it taken to relieve a simple upset stomach, it is also used to save the lives of people who have been accidentally poisoned, especially in the case of a young child who has just ingested a household cleaner or another toxic product. Activated charcoal removes just about everything in the digestive tract and it is all removed in the next bowel movement or so. Plenty of water should be drunk while the activated charcoal is in the system as the act of it removing the contents of the digestive tract is a very, very dehydrating occurrence.

Various teas are also time-tested and true remedies for an upset stomach. Usually, the favored teas to relieve digestive issues are green teas, mint, ginger, chamomile, and cinnamon teas. Peppermint tea is another favorite home remedy. Adding honey as a sweetener will also help. Ginger ale is another tried-and-true favorite and is very effective at settling the stomach.

Children often have stomachaches for various reasons. There are some fun home remedies for a childs upset stomach that is easy to make and the kids should really like them. Warm sliced apples with a little bit of sugar on them and a small glass of lemonade are a popular favorite. Warm tea and lightly buttered toast also work well. Another fun home remedy for the children is a couple of scoops of lime sherbet in a glass of Sprite made just like a root beer float.

Another home remedy is to mix the juice of about three or four lemons (or the equivalent amount of lemon juice) into a glass of water. Add two teaspoons of baking powder and a pinch of salt. Some other recommendations include Coke (after it has gone flat), drinking warm water, ice water, toast with a small amount of mustard on it, rice, bananas, raw apples, yogurt (usually plain yogurt), a two-to-one mixture of ketchup and mustard, sucking on betel leaves and rock salt, smoking marijuana, a drink made from spruce needles and moss, various forms of peppermint, and sucking on a piece of ginger.

Try any (or even several) of these home remedies to see which work the best for you and your constitution. There are a lot of things in a typical kitchen which will help settle an upset stomach and a short search through the cupboard or refrigerator should yield some good results.
