There are several ways to use home remedies to combat gas trouble. Different herbs, teas, and dietary changes can be made to treat and prevent gas trouble. If one suffers from chronic digestive problems, it is best to seek the advice of a healthcare provider first to help rule out such problems as acid reflux, irritable bowel syndrome, diverticulitis or any other serious illness or condition. Once those have been eliminated as a possibility, one can then concentrate on finding an effective home remedy for gas trouble.

Some of the herbs that are effective in getting rid of gas trouble are mints (such as spearmint, peppermint, and catnip), dill, ginger, etc. Most of these are in any ordinary home. A piece of peppermint candy or spearmint gum after a meal will help relieve mild to moderate gas trouble. For more serious and more painful digestion issues, there is the issue of drinking a carbonated beverage, the bubbly carbonation helps move the painful gas around so that it may be expelled instead of sitting still in the digestive tract and causing bloating and distension of the stomach, which can be very uncomfortable and painful.

Parsley and coriander are also helpful in dealing with gas trouble. Chewing that small sprig of parsley that is typically on a restaurant plate will help relieve digestive issues. Fennel is another good remedy fennel tea can be drunk to relieve gas trouble.

Being a careful observer of one’s diet will be the best prevention of gas trouble. If one is prone to having digestive problems and there are no serious diseases or conditions present, it will really help to try to determine which foods in one’s diet are the culprits, and then either reducing or eliminating the intake of those foods. Generally, foods such as cabbage, radishes, beans, Brussels sprouts, and broccoli are all well-known gas producers. Dairy products can also cause gas trouble if one is lactose-intolerant. Lactose is a sugar found in dairy products, and there are a lot of people who have a very difficult time digesting it. Typically, those individuals will see a physician for a prescription medicine to treat lactose-intolerance, or they will use an over-the-counter medication. To a lesser extent, they will try to make any dietary changes that are necessary, but they also realize that they need the calcium that those foods provide. Sometimes those people will take the medication and still enjoy the kinds of foods that used to give them gas trouble.

In conclusion, several types of mints and herbs will help with gas trouble. Being at least a little more careful with the diet will also help one lead a happier life without constant gas trouble.
