If one is worried about being too skinny, there are some home remedies that will help with weight gain. A lot of thin men worry about looking strong, and want to be able to pack on some muscle so that they do not look weak for the ladies. Some women have the same problem with not being able to gain enough weight, but for the majority of women, the opposite is true.
Sometimes a person can exercise a lot and still not see good results for weight gain. This is usually due to not having the right diet for increasing muscle size. There are certain foods that should be eaten to increase weight gain for someone who is trying to be stronger.
There is a home remedy protein shake that can be made by blending together the following ingredients: milk, whey, protein powder, raw oats, peanut butter, and olive oil. Add a banana or some other fruit if desired. The protein powder usually comes in flavors such as chocolate or vanilla. This shake will add a good amount of calories to the diet if taken two or three times a day, and one should see at least a weight gain of one or two pounds by the end of the week. It is not a good idea to gain more than a couple of pounds a week, as this will put a bad stress on the body and its organs.
An exercise routine with weights will also help in the weight gain effort. The increased proteins in the diet will help build muscle. Start off with a light free weight routine to warm up, then do a few weightlifting exercises. Do not start off with a heavy routine in weightlifting since one will be sore and will burn off the extra calories and there will not be any weight gain for all of the effort. Take it easy and add the extra weight slowly so as not to burn off more calories than what is taken in by the body.
Also, it is a good idea to take in more calories than usual, mostly in the form of proteins to build muscle and in the form of complex carbohydrates (such as pasta, etc.) so that the body has spare energy to burn. This additional diet will be one of the best things for weight gain. It will also help to keep track of the calories so that the intake of calories will be more that what is burned off by the body. There are several resources online and in print that will help with determining the amount of calories in food and how much one should take in depending on one’s body type.
