How Can You Cure Your Baby Diaper Rash?

Diaper rash is the inflammation and dermatitis that cause irritation and redness around the thighs and buttocks area. According to its cause, symptoms and appearance, it has been categorized into 5 types: Friction rash, Irritation rash, Allergic Rash, Seborrhea and Intertrigo.

Symptoms of Diaper Rash:

  • Redness of skin of the buttocks.
  • Raw, small spotty rash around the hips and buttock areas.
  • Moist skin around the diaper area such as groin, buttocks and hips.
  • Cracked and painful skin.
  • Small fissures in the leg and buttocks area in newborn child.

Causes of Diaper Rash:-

Diaper rash generally occurs when the stool and urine, chemicals or some materials irritate sensitive part of the skin. Repeated exposure, excessive moisture and lack of breathable pores and material in diapers lead to diaper rashes. Other causes:

  • Humid, Hot weather.
  • Improperly way of fitting diapers.
  • Infrequently diaper changes.
  • Poor laundering and washing of diapers.
  • Continuous exposure to moisture.
  • Skin allergies.
  • Urinary tract infections.

Home Remedies for Diaper Rash:

  1. Put oatmeal in the baby tub water. Keep the bottom portion of your baby in this water and allow your baby to sit for some time in the tub.
  2. Aloe Vera gel also useful in curing the diaper rashes. While giving your baby a bath, you can put some fresh gel of aloe Vera over a baby bottom portion.
  3. Add baking soda in your baby bath water and give your baby a bath with this water.
  4. While washing the diaper’s cloth, you can add a small amount of vinegar in the water and wash the diapers with this water.
  5. Mix olive oil and water equally and apply this combination on your baby diaper rashes. The olive oil will easily get absorbed in your baby body and quickly heal those diaper rashes. This is an effective natural remedy for diaper rash.
  6. Cod liver oil is an also perfect solution for treating diaper rashes. Apply this liver oil on your baby diaper rashes.
  7. Application of vegetable oil on your baby diaper rash and keep the diaper rash area uncovered for few times. This will surely help in reducing growth of bacteria.
  8. Paste of Vaseline and starch also helpful in reducing diaper rashes.
  9. Putting of oatmeal in the bath water of your baby also help in reducing diaper rashes.

The affected area sometimes leads to a rash of pimples, bacterial or yeast infection thus it is important to treat it in a right away and on time.
