Natural home remedies promise enhancement of your memory powers. Here again, the role of herbs is very important, as it is these herbs which activate the memory powers. Let us examine some home remedies to boost memory.

A very popular herb used in the traditional Indian medicine system, Ayurveda, which enhances memory power, is known as Brahmi, (Herpestis Monniera). This herb is known to stimulate the brain cells, by removing the toxins flooding the nervous system. Brahmi is also known to rectify alcoholism and drug abuse. Many producers have come out with formulas containing Brahmi to activate brain functions. Similar to Brahmi, there are other natural herbs to boost memory.

Among them are spices like ginger, turmeric, Cinnamon. Ginger for instance through its active ingredient Zingerrone, halts neuron smash up. Ginger can be trusted for correcting loss of memory. Turmeric, on the other hand is proved be good for brain. Turmeric through its Curcumin content is known to boost memory, which can also control Alzheimer’s disease. Cinnamon is also known to be good on the memory. While these are all herbs which are used in our kitchens, except Brahmi.

While mere smell of cinnamon is said to increase our cognitive abilities, Siberian Ginseng is also reputed to increase flow of oxygen and blood into the brain. Ginseng relieves stress, and stress is recognized to be one of the major reasons for inhibiting our cognitive functions.

Another important home remedy to boost memory is gingko biloba, as this natural herb helps cognitive functions to improve. It is also recommended in treating major sicknesses like dementia, and studies are pointing towards its possible role in curing Alzheimer’s disease. Another traditional medicine, this time a Chinese medicine, known as Ping Da Wan or Gotu Kola is considered as the best herb for elevating brain power. If you take this herb with Siberian Ginseng, it is proven to be of more effect.

Apart from these sources and herbs, there are other home remedies to boost memory, which include cocoa beans. Though cocoa containing sweets are considered as most welcome when it concerned your children and your own health, it has been discovered that cocoa beans from which most of the chocolates are made, is very good for our health, as it contains antioxidant phytochemicals so necessary to increase our brain functions. It is good for both the mind and body. Similar is the case with coffee beans. Whatever are the opinions about caffeine effects, regular usage of beverage made from freshly ground coffee beans is known to enhance memory. Coffee also has lots of antioxidants which can help prevention of harm to neurons. Regular coffee drinking habit is supposed to reduce memory loss in old people as well as bring down the effects of Alzheimer’s disease.
