Growing pains are pains that occur mostly in children aged between3-5 and between8-12. They feel pain in the legs, or face painful cramping of muscles around the shins, thighs or the calves. The growing pains are actually associated with growing. It is not associated with serious disease and generally resolves by childhood. However, frequent arising may  lead to substantial effect on the child’s  life.

Growing Pain Symptom’s- The child or adult faces cramps, discomfort and aches for legs, feet or calves. There are no other signs of redness, swelling or increased warmth. The growing pain symptoms do not occur at daytime hours.

Natural Remedies For Treating Growing Pain: The natural remedies work quickly to get relief from growing. The best part of the home remedies is it does not cause any irritation or other side effects. Thus, following natural ways can help your child to get instant relief.

  • Massage – Gently rub on the affected area; however, don’t rub for longer time as it may result into irritation. Gentle rub can relax child’s muscles.
  • Heat for Growing Pains- Gentle heat on the affected portion can reduce the uncomfortable with growing pains.
  • Moist Heat- Moist heat is simple and effective for the treatment of growing pain. Adding of Epsom’s Salts on bath water also give you soothing effect. Placing a hot bottle water on the painful area also work and protect child’s skin.
  • Leg Stretches-Stretching legs is also beneficial remedy for growing pain. As sometimes growing pains can also result due to physical activity for a prolonged period in a day.
  • Dry Heat. In some cases, a heating pad also helps to alleviate growing pains. You can use a towel in place of heating pads. Be sure it should not be too hot. Either folds the towel or put it over the affected area, or you can also wrap it. This can be effectively helping to get relief from growing pain.
  • Stretch child’s legs. During the daytime  or before going to bed at night you can stretch child’s legs.
  • Validate your kid’s feelings – Do not tell your kid that she, or he having growing pains and it will go away soon. As in some cases the little attention will go to a longer way toward soothing milder pains. Admit that the kid is experiencing this pain & thus offer them some snuggle time. Re assurance and cuddling are the simplest natural remedy for growing pains.
