How to Precautions Post Hair Transplant Surgery

There are an increasing number of people opting for hair transplant surgery. No body in this civilized world would like to go bare head at a younger age. Before going for the actual surgery one may get excited about his looks and the complements and comments he would be receiving among his circle. But like all other medical surgeries, hair transplant surgery also requires pre and post caring for its successful completion.

The first care you should be taking is regarding protecting the newly grafted scalps from direct sunlight. These grafts are very sensitive to sunlight and can be damaged or result in no hair growth. Therefore, it is very important for you to take care of the newly grafted scalps during early stages. This would help in quickly healing the newly transplanted grafts.

Hats are the best options for early stage protection. Choose a fairly loose hat that would not rub against the newly inserted grafts. But the hat would not be required for a long period. After a few weeks you can replace hats with sunscreens with at least a SPF of 30.

Another way for making the wounds heal quickly is by maintaining the right amount of blood flow in your head. While sleeping at nights you need to ensure that enough blood flows towards your brain. The usual pillow will not help in this matter, so you will be required to purchase new wedge shape pillows.

Too much of blood flow is also not good. Do not engage yourself in any kind of heavy work activities as it will increase the amount of blood flowing towards the head. The greater amount of blood flowing towards head can cause you bleed through newly grafted scalps.

Precautions also have to be taken while cleaning your hair. Newly grafted hairs require gentle but thorough cleaning. Your surgeon may provide you with instructions and a special shampoo for this purpose. During early stages, your newly grafted hairs may cause you rinsing many times through out the day. Just make sure that you do not disturb your newly grafted areas which otherwise can cause bleeding or abrupt hair growth.

After the surgery you need to maintain a regular appointment schedule with your surgeon. These may occur each week. If you have any related questions, doubts or problems then please inform your surgeon about them. This will help you in taking preventive measures on time. Just ask your surgeon as when you will be able to use the comb. His reply may surprise you though. Other regular check-ups are also required to be carried on along side.

Remember, any kind of surgery requires pre and post surgery procedures, both personal and medical. The correct balance between the two within a prescribed time period ensures success of a surgery. Otherwise, loosely handled matters may result in harmful side-effects. As such, spending huge amount of money does not provide any help unless pre and specially post precautions are correctly followed.
