How to Treat Infected Hair Follicle?

The infected hair follicle is scientifically termed as folliculitis. It is the inflammation of hair follicles. It is caused due to staphylococcus bacteria. It may also be caused due to wearing tight clothes or shaving, over sweating, skin abrasions and the wounds caused by surgery and plastic dressing.
Symptoms of an infected hair follicle depend on the type of infection caused. The two major categories of the hair follicle are superficial folliculitis and deep folliculitis. Staphylo folliculities shows the itching, white fluid filled bumps and pseudomonas folliculites show red, round and itch bumps. It also causes dark scars on the neck and arms. Sometimes it also swells. If you observe the small blister with fluids, then it is the sign of herpetic folliculitis.
Treatment of infected hair follicle
- Staphylo folliculitis-Doctors prescribe the oral antibiotics. You should not shave the infected area,. If it is necessary to shave you can use the clean razor or electric razor.
- Pseudomonas folliculities-It does not require any special treatment. However, it has special medications, which help in getting the relief from the itching. You may need oral antibiotics where infection takes the severe form.
- Tinea Barbea-Oral anti biotic is used for this treatment.
- Pseudo folliculitis Barbea-You should have self care measures while shaving. You may avoid using the razor blade. Use an electric razor. You may also use gel instead of shaving cream.hen wash with the warm water and apply the moisturizing cream.
Pityrosporum Folliculi-This infection is caused due to fungus, Tropical’s or oral anti fungal is best treatment prescribed for it. It can reoccur in a future. To prevent it you may use topical ointments.
