Increasing workload and competitive feeling to be better than others has led to numerous psychological problems. These instill anxiety and discomfort which result in sluggish metabolism and tiredness. So do these affect our looks as the skin turns dull and develops wrinkles. This calls for short mental breaks.

You are stressed when given deadlines and in maintaining workflow. This does not mean you will start skipping your work leaving the office frequently. Here you just need to take a short break and then resume your work to complete it on time.

It is believed that understanding the stress cause can help in better and quick relief. Once you know why you are so stressed then you may tackle it easily. A five minute walk can also help you in de-stressing your mind and body. That is why you should get up from your chair once or twice to have a walk in the office premises which improves circulation and loosens muscles of the back & leg. This activity helps disintegrate workflow so that you work with more focus at your desk. This way you will be able to rid yourself from stress and all its adverse effects.

Listening music for about 3 minutes sometimes help relieve your stress. As in some offices it is restricted, you can use your iPod for relaxing. You can even enjoy music during break time. This will further help relieve stress and feel fresh for the next hours of the day. Many companies provide headphones to listen to music while working. Psychiatrists even suggest placing postures of your choice at your desk. Keep changing them for self motivation and encouragement.

While taking small breaks, including lunch break you can chit chat little to help release your stress. A friendly talk aids in alleviating your stress significantly. Also stay away from unnecessary disputes that can highly affect your work. These Guidelines are specifically prepared for those who invest a lot of time at the desk so that they give optimum output for the companies’ benefit as well as their own.
