Tuberculosis is an infection of the lungs, which can prove to be very fatal for the infected person. More than two million people die of tuberculosis every year. The symptoms of tuberculosis have also been found in the ancient Egyptian mummies.
Reasons for the Occurrence of Tuberculosis :
Intake of air, which contains the bacterium M.tuberculosis, will result in the spread of tuberculosis. Coughing and sneezing are two of the most common methods for the spread of tuberculosis. This is a disease, which will mainly affect the lungs. People who have a lot of close contact and association with people infected with tuberculosis stand a high chance of getting infected. Tuberculosis mostly spreads through family members and colleagues. People who are diabetic and who already have a very weak immune system are also very likely to be infected with tuberculosis. People who have been infected with AIDS will most likely also be having tuberculosis. Malnutrition and alcoholism are some of the other reasons for the occurrence of tuberculosis.
Symptoms of Tuberculosis :
The lungs, intestines, bones and glands are the organs, which are affected due to tuberculosis. Pulmonary tuberculosis or tuberculosis of the lungs is one of the one of the most common types of tuberculosis. The patient starts losing weight heavily and he also becomes very weak and loses his color. Coughing, very high fever, difficulty in breathing and pain all over the body are some of the other symptoms of tuberculosis.
Home Remedies for Tuberculosis :
- Milk diet - Calcium is one of the most important ingredients required for the treatment of tuberculosis. Milk will help in providing the body with the right amount of calcium, which it requires. But it is also important to fast for three days and only consume fruit juices like orange juice. The juice should also contain an equal amount of water. One glass of milk should be consumed every two hours for the first day and a glass of milk should be consumed at every half hour on the next day. The patient should make sure that at least six liters of milk are consumed in a day. Women need to consume only five liters of milk. The best results can be obtained by consuming milk which is raw and which has not been pasteurized.
- Custard apple - The custard apple contains a lot of refreshing drugs, which will help in treating tuberculosis. Fermented liquor has been made by Ayurvedic doctors using this fruit. The pulp of these custard apples should be mixed with seedless raisins and allowed to simmer in water. This mixture should then be filtered and mixed with crushed sugar candy and some powdered cinnamon and cardamom.
- Indian Gooseberry - This is otherwise known as the amla. A spoon of amla juice and honey should be mixed and consumed every morning in order to improve the strength and vitality of the body.
- Pineapple - Pineapple juice helps in dissolving and removing all the mucus. One glass of pineapple juice should be consumed on a regular basis.
- Banana - Juice from bananas and the normal cooking bananas have proved to be very useful in treating tuberculosis. Patients who have reached the advanced stage of tuberculosis have been cured with this method.
- Orange - A glass of orange juice should be mixed with a spoon of salt and honey and consumed on an everyday basis by the infected patient. This will help in protecting the body from all kinds of minor infections.
