Diabetes is a medical condition, which is the result of the mal functioning of the metabolic processes in the body. Due to this the blood sugar levels in the body increase. The glucose, which is derived from the food, is converted into energy using insulin. But for a person who is afflicted with diabetes, the body does not contain the adequate amount of insulin, which is necessary, and this is not able to process the glucose in the right manner. Due to this, the glucose continues to stay in the blood and this results in high levels of blood sugar in the body. The deficiency in the production of insulin is known as adult onset diabetes or Type 2 diabetes. This form of diabetes has many symptoms and warning signals, which will tell people that they need to get their blood sugar levels checked.

It takes some time for the symptoms of type 2 diabetes to manifest themselves and people should carefully watch out for these symptoms. Polyuria or regular and frequent urination is the earliest and one of the most common symptoms of type 2 diabetes. This is due to the extra consumption of water in order to curtail dehydration and prevent a dry mouth. Excessive thirst or polydipsia is also another signal of frequent urination and dehydration, which is taking place in the body. The vision of the person is also affected. All the above-mentioned symptoms are signs of Type 2 diabetes.

The feeling of extreme tiredness or fatigue, slow process of the healing of wounds, regular infections, extreme weight loss, inability to experience an erection and bad breath are some of the early symptoms of type 2 diabetes. If people fail to notice these symptoms and get the right kind of treatment at the right time, then the condition of their health can deteriorate further and this can lead to bigger health complications like type 1 diabetes, chronic kidney failure, heart diseases, retinal damage, nerve damage, etc.

Type 2 diabetes is a medical condition, which will complicate the metabolic activities, which take place in the body, and this could sometimes permanently damage or impair some vital or essential organs in the body. Regular checkups should be conducted in order to check your blood pressure levels as well as your blood glucose levels. This will help you to gain a correct idea of your medical condition and you can make sure that you get the right kind of treatment at the right time. When people ignore the symptoms of Type 2 diabetes and stay without treating them, their condition can deteriorate and this can lead to Type 1 diabetes which will mean that you have take insulin injections throughout your life.

There are some specific tests, which need to be conducted in order to confirm that a person has Type 2 diabetes. They are the blood glucose level, random blood glucose level evaluation and the oral glucose test. Once the blood sugar levels have been detected, then the doctor will prescribe the right kind of medication along with a proper diet chart as well as an exercise regimen. All these together will help in controlling the blood sugar levels in the body.
